Web Harmonium is free for everyone. Use it for personal practice, education, teaching, and enjoyment. Be kind, respect copyright when recording, and do not hold us liable for technical issues.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, using, or playing Web Harmonium (the Service), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
Important: These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
2. License to Use
Free Usage License
Web Harmonium is free for personal and educational use. By using this application, you agree to the following terms:
- The application is provided free of charge for personal use
- You may use it for educational purposes, including teaching
- You may use it for religious and devotional activities
- You may not sell or commercially redistribute the application
- The copyright remains with Happy Sinha (2024-2026)
What You CAN Do
- Use Web Harmonium for personal practice and learning
- Use for educational purposes in schools, colleges, and music institutions
- Use for teaching students (online or in-person lessons)
- Include in religious and devotional activities (kirtans, bhajans)
- Record audio for your own personal collection
- Share recordings with proper attribution (link to webharmonium.vercel.app)
- Use for your own personal practice and learning
- Share your performances with attribution to Web Harmonium
What You CANNOT Do
- Sell Web Harmonium as a standalone product (it's already free!)
- Remove or modify the copyright notices in the code
- Use the harmonium samples in other commercial products without permission
- Claim you created the software or samples
- Use for illegal purposes or hate speech
3. User Responsibilities
3.1 Technical Requirements
You are responsible for ensuring your device meets the minimum requirements:
- Modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge - latest 2 versions)
- JavaScript enabled
- Sufficient system resources for audio processing
- For MIDI: Compatible MIDI device and browser MIDI support
3.2 Audio Output
You are responsible for:
- Your speaker or headphone volume levels (protect your hearing!)
- Ensuring audio doesn't disturb others in shared spaces
- Complying with local noise regulations
3.3 MIDI Devices
If using MIDI devices:
- Ensure your MIDI device is compatible with Web MIDI API
- Grant browser permissions for MIDI access when prompted
- Use only legitimate, non-defective MIDI equipment
4. Intellectual Property
4.1 Software
The Web Harmonium software, design, audio samples, and all associated content are © 2024-2026 Happy Sinha. All rights reserved. The application is provided as a free service for personal and educational use.
4.2 Audio Samples
The harmonium audio samples are original recordings created specifically for this project. They are provided under the same MIT License as the code. You may:
- Use the samples within the Web Harmonium application
- Record performances using these samples
- Share recordings with attribution
You may NOT extract and redistribute the raw samples as a sample library without permission.
4.3 Trademarks
Web Harmonium and the Web Harmonium logo are trademarks of Happy Sinha. You may use these in attributions and when referring to the application, but you may not use them to imply endorsement or create confusion with other products.
5. Content You Create
5.1 Your Recordings
Any music you create using Web Harmonium belongs to you. This includes:
- Audio recordings of your performances
- Compositions created using the instrument
- Videos featuring the Web Harmonium interface
5.2 Attribution
While not legally required, we appreciate attribution when sharing publicly:
Suggested Attribution:
"Played on Web Harmonium (webharmonium.vercel.app)"
or
"Powered by Web Harmonium - Free Virtual Harmonium"
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
AS-IS BASIS: Web Harmonium is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- The audio quality will meet professional recording standards
- MIDI devices will work with all browsers or operating systems
- The Service will be compatible with all devices or browsers
- The results from using the Service will be accurate or reliable
Audio Quality
While we strive for high-quality audio, browser-based audio synthesis has limitations:
- Latency may vary based on your device and browser
- Audio quality depends on your sound hardware
- Polyphony limits may apply on lower-end devices
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Happy Sinha shall not be liable for:
- Any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Loss of data, music, or recordings
- Hardware damage (including MIDI devices or audio equipment)
- Missed performances or teaching opportunities
- Any damages arising from interruption of service
Total Liability Cap: In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you have paid to use the Service. Since the Service is free, this means zero liability for damages.
8. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use Web Harmonium for:
- Any illegal activities or purposes
- Harassment, hate speech, or harmful content creation
- Attempting to hack, scrape, or reverse engineer the Service maliciously
- Overloading our infrastructure with automated requests
- Impersonating the creator or making false claims of ownership
- Creating and distributing malware disguised as Web Harmonium
9. Termination
We reserve the right to:
- Terminate or suspend access to the Service immediately for violations
- Discontinue the Service at any time (with reasonable notice if possible)
- Modify or remove features as the project evolves
Since this is a free service without accounts, "termination" means blocking access to abusive IP addresses if necessary.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable in the jurisdiction of the Service creator (India), without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any disputes arising from these Terms shall first attempt to be resolved amicably through direct contact. If resolution cannot be reached, the dispute may be submitted to the appropriate courts in India.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
- Post a notice on the homepage for significant changes
- Never make changes that would retroactively restrict your rights to content you've already created
Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Severability
